Andy has worked in the lift industry since he left school and has never done anything else.
He started on the tools as a field engineer, then moved through supervisor, operations and business development roles at lift companies across the North West. By the time he set up Vertical Lift Services in 2019 he had 27 years in the trade.
It began as a sole trader operation supporting other lift companies. It became a limited company in 2020 and opened its St Helens head office in 2021. Today it’s a team of engineers, an operations manager and apprentices, with CHAS Elite, SafeContractor and EXOR accreditation and ISO 45001 in progress.
They look after lifts for Hotel Chocolat, the NHS, Chester Zoo, St Helens Theatre Royal and St Mary’s Hospice, across offices, hotels, care homes, student accommodation and sports venues.
